Sana's Scribbles
25 April 2013 @ 12:49 pm

So I’ve got a lot going on in my life right now and one way I’ve been coping with it is to watch a marathon of “The Vampire Diaries”. I’m now in the middle of S4 (I think I just watched Episode 13 of Season 4) and I’ve got all these thoughts floating through my head about this show, its plots, and its characters. I don’t know how many people on my f-list watch this show but I just had to jot down some random reactions I’ve been having for the past two weeks as I blow through approximately 88 episodes of a one-hour long CW drama in the span of one month.

Long, long post about 4 seasons of Vampire Diaries... Collapse )

So, as jade4813 posted on her LJ - and I cross-posted here for reference - we're going to try our hand at writing a series of challenge drabbles for Bruce Wayne and Diana Prince. (AKA Batman and Wonder Woman.)

Here are the romance novel titlesjade4813 has to work with:

1. Bet You'll Marry Me

2. Hunted by the Others

3. Paradise Island

Good luck!!!

For those folks still reading our stuff, leave a comment and let us know if you have any preferences for which title we choose & what kind of Bruce/Diana action you're looking for!

My soulmate, Sana has been asking for a while if I would join her in writing a fic pairing close to her heart, Bruce and Diana. I've been reluctant since, you know, the amount I could tell you about Wonder Woman could probably fill a half a page. But there's only so long you can turn down your soulmate, and so I'm going to give this a shot!

To that end, we used to do challenges involving titles to romance novels, and we had quite a bit of fun with that, back in the day. So that's what we're doing again. We offer three titles, the other person has to pick one and run with it. It's a pretty simple concept, made nervewracking for me only because I'm going to be dipping my toe in a sandbox that I'm entirely unfamiliar with.

Sana's first challenge will be...

Pride and Prejudice; Diana and a Dalmatian (okay, the title is actually "Diona" but I figure close enough; I'm taking fic writer liberties); Not Quite Dating

Now she has to pick one of those titles and do something with it. I, for one, am curious to know what she comes up with. Of course, she'll also come up with some titles for me to work off of, and that will be...interesting!

Sana, have fun! (And be glad I didn't decide to go with "Untamed Billionaire, Undressed Virgin" - an actual title, it seems, but it made me laugh.) Now how the heck do I tag you on a post...sanalayla?

I stumbled across this book that is a proper Marvel comic release. From the excerpt, it almost reads like fanfiction but it reads like GOOD fanfiction. I enjoy reading a good comic story in prose (how I wish S11 of SV was written in prose novel form!). I wish we could download this onto Kindle, but I might go ahead and get the hardcover book.

Excerpt can be found here

PLOT: Fantasy/romantic fiction/comics author Alisa Kwitne Flight of Angels Moonburn) reveals the secret backstory of Avengers coupl Hawkeye nd th Black Widow. Under secret orders to assassinate the Widow, the rough-edged marksman finds himself caught up in a violent prison break that releases some of the world's most vicious and powerful criminals. Defying his superiors, Hawkeye joins forces with the sultry Russian spy — and with a mismatched group of personalities that include Spider-Man, Spider-Woman, Luke Cage, Captain America and Iron Man. Unexpected betrayals and shocking revelations will lead the team from Manhattan's top security Raft prison to the untamed jungle of Savage Land in dramatically different take on Brian Michael Bendis' blockbuster Avengers comics debut. Learn the sizzling backstory of your favorite big-screen heroes in this adaptation, inspired by the best of page and screen!
